PostSubject: What's the rule?   Sat Sep 06, 2008 4:57 am

Can anyone tell me if there is a rule about young players playing only in their age range? For example, my son aged 8 (born Dec99) is quite small for his age and think he would be better off in a 2000 team. Is this allowed?
Regards
Audrey

But what difference does 17 days make? Especially when he could be playing with and against boys who could be nearly a whole year older than him. There should be some exceptions.

Hi 'The Beeches' i think the issue is more with insurance than with your boy being over age. personally i dont see the problem with it at this age its non-competative football, we had a similar problem a couple of years ago, boy born on 30th of december but had to play for the older team.
rules are rules unfortunately however there are teams who play overage players intentialy.
